Iverson was part of Company C of the Ninth Louisiana Battalion
of Louisiana Infantry. Iverson was elected 2nd Lieutenant on April 1st, 1862 and was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in September
of the same year. He fought in the battle of Baton Rouge on august 5, 1862. He resigned in March of 1863 due to fever, But
rejoined and is shown at Camp Polk on June 12, 1864.
